We cannot save our own souls, someone else cannot save our souls. Even rescuers can only save our bodies or save us physically from an accident site, from a disaster. Only one Human, sent by God to take physical birth as a child in Bethlehem, the House of Bread ( Spiritual Bread that redeems our souls) -namely Jesus meaning the Lord saves or Jehovah Saves, can save us. He who is whole or perfect was broken or shared with humanity so that we who are broken can be made whole or perfect in Him. He saves us not by His might or power but being broken for our sake. Every human in some way prepares his soul for transmigration to the next life or the next world. But Jesus provides the Vehicle, the transport, the passage, the means to be saved or He enables us to live eternally. He is the Messiah provided, sent by God to liberate or save us from the mess we are in. We only need to place our whole faith in His name, in His person, in His word and we are deemed to be redeemed. Such faith becomes the good root that produces good fruit in us and in our lives. Jesus hears the prayer of every soul that prays SOS. Jesus was not sprung upon mankind as a sudden surprise but there were enough signs, prophecies, messengers who came before Him to herald His arrival on earth. There were signs in the heavens and signs from Heaven: the star that appeared over the manger in which He was born, the appearance of angels to the shepherds, the prophecies of several prophets like Isaiah, Daniel, Malachi, and finally, the immediate herald, John, the Baptist. We can ignore these signs and disbelieve or pay attention and believe. The free choice is ours. But no one can complain that God has not heard the SOS signal being beamed from every human heart.
