All or nothing!

UV 479/10,000 Galatians 2 v 20 All or nothing. Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Our old nature is crucified with Christ the moment we began to believe in the power of redemption of the death by crucifixion of Jesus the Christ. Our old nature implies the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life and the manifestations of these three roots of sin in our lives producing death and judgment on mankind. This explains the salvation dimension of the work of Christ on the cross. Since Christ in His self-effacing and self-sacrificing love has purchased us or redeemed our souls from Satan to whom we were mortgaged, our lives no longer belong to us but to Jesus. It is His resurrection power that now lives in us. This explains the dimension of the lordship of Christ over our lives. We have the option to give it all or give nothing. Since He exchanged His life for ours, we must give back in return our lives to Him. Someone explained the meaning of the word, Christian as Christ is all and “ ian” stands for “ I am nothing.” We should hold this perspective always in our minds. Our bodies and minds are now instruments of righteousness or instruments in the hands of God to do the right things, Our tongues should be employed to thank, praise and worship God. Our imagination should be used to expand our faith. Our hands and legs should be used of God to take us to the places He wants us to go and to do the things He wants us to do. Our eyes and ears should be used to perceive and hear the things He wants us to perceive and hear. Our reasoning should be used to trust God and His Word and not to disbelieve Him and His Word. Our memories should be used to recall the Word of God. When we live in this manner, we live by the faith of the Son of God, Jesus. It is interesting to note that the words used are “ faith of the Son..” and not “ faith in the Son..” It implies that we must develop and demonstrate the faith of Jesus Himself in our lives. When we bless something, we must believe like Jesus that it can be multiplied to even feed a multitude. When we pray for healing or deliverance, we must believe that it will happen. When we speak, we must speak with the authority that Jesus demonstrated. We must believe that God will supply abundantly all our need. Our thinking, speaking, doing and being should not be afflicted by “ hamartia” or shortcoming. When God measures our faith, He should not find it falling short or stunted or static. He is happy as long as our faith is living and growing. Prateep V Philip
