Upward Mobility

UV 1637/10000 Upward Mobility
Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.
Micah 4 v 13

The Lord will bless the believer with inner strength. We are called upon to arise from our state of slumber or rest and to work as a harvester for Him. When we consecrate our work to the Lord, he will bless us with the fruit of our labour. We need to dedicate our whole lives to Him. Many people seek upward mobility by pursuing wealth, position and fame. But the Lord grants us mobility that is supernatural as if we had hoofs of brass. When we dedicate our whole lives to the Lord, He will cause supernatural measure of abundance and increase in our lives not just of the material but the more significant non material aspects of our lives. He will cause us to scale up from hoofs to horn.

When we dedicate or consecrate our feet or our means of travel to the Lord, we will not end up going to the wrong places. When we dedicate our hearts to the Lord, we will not harbour the wrong feelings. When we dedicate our hands and work to the Lord, we will be diligent and determined as well as confident that whatever be the result, it is from the Lord. When we dedicate our lips and tongue to the Lord, we are consecrating our communication so that it is perfect, wholesome and edifying, useful to others and not harmful for us. When we dedicate our substance to the Lord, He will cause it to increase and multiply and we will be enabled to share it with the needy. When we surrender our past, present and future, our memories and aspirations, our passions and our desires to the Lord, He will bless us with the spirit of self control and contentment. As scripture says, “Contentment is great gain.”

Our every gain, increase or victory is from the Lord. We do not rely on our own strength, wisdom, talent, ability or charm but we depend on the Lord for His power, wisdom and enablement. He is the One who vindicates us. He defeats the designs of the enemy against us to steal, rob and kill our joy and peace. I read an article this morning of the present Saudi defence minister being described as a most powerful man given the fact that he is the son of the present king of Saudi Arabia. He has launched hostilities against Yemen and Iran. But the man of faith is far more powerful in an invisible, eternal and subtle way being a child of God. The words, “horn of iron” and “hoofs of brass” imply that such a person is invincible. From the lowest or low priority areas of our lives to the significant or high priority areas of our lives, the Lord will manifest His immense and unlimited power and grace.
