Transformed Degree by Degree

UV 470/10,000 2 Corinthians 3 v 18 Transformed degree by degree 2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. “ We all”, meaning all believers in Christ and as our belief or faith increases, are seeing, hearing, experiencing, perceiving, tasting and understanding the beauty of God in our life from day to day and stage to stage. The Lord is beautiful beyond measure. He is full of grace and truth and power. He did such a beautiful thing for us by breaking His body on the cross though He is the very image of God. Mary Magdalene had only broken a costly jar of perfume over the Lord’s body but He has approved of it, saying, “ She has done a beautiful thing for me.” As we meditate, reflect, remember and understand what He did and does for us to this day, we will be transformed into His very image. Now, we are seeing only a dim image as a man sees his reflection in a mirror but as we grow in faith we will understand more and more. The Holy Spirit will reveal new truths about God’s glory and grace. As we persist in faith despite all circumstances in life and as we diligently study the Word of God, we will add to our faith, excellence, knowledge, patience, self control, brotherly kindness, godliness and to crown it all love. Our minds will be renewed and we will be freed from the deceit and corruption of our former lusts or uncontrollable carnal desires. We will conform to the very image of Christ. In other words, we will bear a resemblance or likeness to Christ in our character and works as brothers and sisters or offspring of the same father bear likeness to each other. It is said, knowledge is power but wisdom is liberty. As we mature in our faith, we will experience that liberty as for where the Spirit of God dwells,there is liberty- liberty from guilt, regret, fear, anger, hatred, sadness and anxiety.
