Just in Time
UV 951/10,000 Just in Time
For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.
Habakuk 2 v 3
When the Lord gives a revelation or a vision, it will be fulfilled in due course. It will never prove false. We need to wait with patient expectation. The word “ wait” means “ Worship and I trust”. We need to give God praise, glory and thanksgiving ahead of time as if the vision or prophecy is fulfilled. Faith is nothing but patient positive expectation. The Lord has appointed or set a particular time for the fulfilment of the various promises we have received, the prophecies spoken concerning us as well as the world and the church, the visions seen by various saints both contemporary and in the past.
Daniel knew that many of the visions and prophecies he received would be fulfilled after many days, some long after his lifetime, some of them are yet to be fulfilled even today. There were certain visions which were fulfilled almost instantly like the hand writing on the wall. Some of the visions and prophecies were fulfilled after a few years like the one about Nebuchadnezzar getting demented and losing the throne. Abraham waited for many years before the promise of a son and heir was fulfilled. Joseph waited for many years before the dream of his family bowing before him was fulfilled. Simeon waited all his life to catch a glimpse of the new born Saviour of the world. In this age when we are used to instant gratification and have a short attention span, it is no doubt difficult to wait patiently. But the Lord asks us to reaffirm our faith in the vision, dream or prophecy by holding on to our hope in the Lord and His Word. Jesus waited for three days before He went to Bethany to resurrect the dead and decaying Lazarus. He reached the marriage feast when the wine had ran out. He allows the natural to have its run before He intervenes in the supernatural. God never acts in haste. He has his own kind of just in time technology in place.
If emotional intelligence is the ability to postpone the gratification of our desires for a greater good, spiritual intelligence is the ability to wait for the fulfilment of God ‘s will expressed as visions, dreams, prophecies and promises. Why does God make us wait when we know that given His power and might, He could instantly change things and cause events as He pleases? It is to both build and test our faith. Our maturity increases as we learn to wait on the Lord. We should not wring our hands in frustration or knit our brows in worry or curl our lips in murmur or complaint about the delay in seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. We begin to realize that it is not the thing or relief or solution that we are waiting for that is important but our dependence and our relationship with our beloved Saviour. We recognize the sovereignty of God to determine the timing as well as the manner of fulfilment of His forthtelling. He sees that while we wait- are we possessed by a sense of doubt or an assurance and sense of certainty that which the Lord has spoken will happen. A certain prophet whenever he prayed for me said, “ your little eyes will see great wonders.” Indeed, my little eyes did see great wonders but greater wonders are waiting to happen. It will not delay but happen in good time or at the God-appointed hour.
