Title Deed Certainty

UV3526/10000 Title Deed Certainty

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen ( the conviction of their reality- faith comprehends as fact  what cannot be experienced by the physical senses)

Hebrews 11 v 1

Faith is “title deed” certainty of an unprovable fact, to be as certain of its truth as one would be of possessing a property by virtue of the title deed being in one’s name and in one’s hand.  No one can take it away, distort it or alter  the fact of ownership of title once a deed is in our name.  Faith is to be so sure of the things that cannot be seen that what can be seen would only seem a dim reflection of what cannot be seen.  It is calling into being that which is not as if it is already is.   It is being sure of the things the Lord God has promised in His word.  We cannot prove the existence of God but we can experience His being, His love, His grace in Christ.   The giants of faith that Hebrews chapter 11 enumerates are persons who believed in the promise of God even though they never perceived it with their senses of sight or touch while they were yet alive.

Today, man has invented blockchain technology or a series of digital registers in which certain facts of ownership or possession are recorded which cannot be tampered with by anyone.   A person who has worked with blockchain technology would swear by its authenticity and vouch for its integrity.   Likewise, people of  faith would have this kind of “block chain” assurance that the word of God is tamper proof, authentic, incontrovertible.  This kind of certainty or assurance generates hope.   Every time we pray on the basis of such hope, we would believe with full assurance that God would prove Himself faithful once more to the promises made and claimed by His servants.

While the scientific community lives by the principle of “seeing is believing”, the faith community lives on the principle of “believing is seeing.”  Such rock-like certainty gives strength and resilience to us  even when we  go through great storms, much suffering and pain where we do not know how and when it will end.   Instead of building their house on the changing or shifting sands of time and circumstance, we hold onto our hope in Christ, our assurance of salvation or eternal life, so much so that even if the extreme circumstance of death should visit us, we move to a different plane of existence, the invisible but experientially true kingdom of heaven, the mansion on high in the  land of the living promised by the Saviour.  When we come to think of it, modern man should have less difficulty in believing in the invisible realm as most of what is happening today happens within the spectrum of invisible and intangible digital technology including most of communication, business  and entertainment.
