The Power to Rule

UV 614/10,000 The Power to Rule “Jesus said to them, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” Matthew 19 v 28 This dynamic uni-verse was spoken into our lives as the Lord alone can breathe into us such hope of the unknown and mystical world beyond the curtain of life and death on the planet. Jesus promises that in the regeneration or at the time the new earth and new heaven is called into being, those who followed Him will set on thrones. The Word promises that those who suffer with Him will also reign with Him. They will be appointed as rulers and judges with power over nations. Jesus always underlined the principle that a worker is entitled to his meat. It meant that we will get just rewards in accordance with our faithfulness in the course of our lifetime. We will share in His power to rule the universe. Salvation is by grace and grace alone but among the saved, the Lord will reward people differently according to their deeds. Jesus was hailed by the prophet Isaiah as “ Wonderful Counsellor, Prince of Peace, Mighty God and Everlasting Father”. In order to be effective rulers of the nations, we need to ask the Lord to give us the ability to give wise counsel, to judge not with our eyes and ears but with discernment of the Spirit, to be full of peace and assurance, to exercise His miraculous power with wisdom and to exhibit the everlasting love of the Father to those who we rule. Our rehearsal or practice starts in this very life. We must display these qualities of heart and mind in the small kingdom that we now rule- our own selves, our own families, our own work situations, our relationships. Then He will be pleased with our faithfulness and calling us, “ You good and faithful servant”, He will place us in charge of larger responsibilities. Prateep V Philip
